Differentiate between south Asians coming in the last 10-15 years and generations prior to. Same for the West Indians. India in particular is a massive and diverse country. But it seems like Canada is now selecting immigrants from India that are lacking education, language skills, and so on purposely. The Canadian government is clearly trying to bring in cheaper labor and students. It’s frustrating for many brown Canadians who are born and raised here (btw this includes other brown Canadians -Arabs, Latin Americans, etc). You don’t fit in with recent immigrants, but you get lumped in by white Canadians and simultaneously face stereotyping. Trust when I say a lot of brown people get frustrated that Tim’s, Mc D, Walmart etc only appear to hire recent Indian immigrants. Diversity in hiring is key. Not just hiring one group. There’s a clear bias and it impacts all Canadians looking for service sector jobs. But again, most south Asian immigrants are good people and hardworking; they’re just looking to make it in a country that is unaffordable for everyone.

Why do black and brown have beef? I remember every since I was a kid the black culture is the only culture I could relate to ... through movies like juice and boys in hood and then when I came to toronto I felt like we were one since I faced racism growing up aswell nothing close to what blacks have gone through but God gave me a small feeling of that the black culture has gone through... I'm a Canadian born man and I understand all cultures and love all cultures but back in the day we used have a crew WEST COAST similar to the 2 pak and biggie war ... we felt like the black culture was the only culture we could relate to growing up but now all cultures are coming together and I don't see much a difference... maybe the foreigners have prejudice against other cultures since I don't know other counties cultures but the ones raised in canada I know for a fact do not have any prejudice in there hearts..... hope this comment helps.. I know Indians from India do not have any racism in them because the music has a lot or rap in it and hip hop... There are layers to this. Some of it is ignorance and some is absolutely how they present themselves and behave. Immigration is a concern amongst the masses. Looking at Mississauga's recent municipal election...the new mayor made some remarks about refugees, refused to participate in the debates bc she was threatened and...🥁 ended up winning by a large lead. So, once you peep di ting you'll understand how much of a concern it is. At the end of the day, no one is better than anyone. Sooner that lesson is learned, the better it will be.
